It's been a really hot day!!! 30 degrees.
The first thing we did when we arrived home from Ganma's was take a 'showa'. Remember how for the first 11 months until she could sit up on her own, C-Jaz was taking baths in a sit-up tub that we placed in the kitchen sink? Then, by the time she was one, sitting up on her own, we got rid of the tub, and she sat 'defrosting' in the kitchen sink. She was so cute!
Then at about 1.5 years, we tried putting her in a regular sized tub as I knelt by her side, but that didn't last long being a lightweight baby. She was slipping and sliding, and I was getting splished and splashed. Walking through IKEA one day, I got excited when we found the perfect baby tub that fit into our bathtub, and this was how I bathed her every day squatting in the tub with her until recently.
For the past couple of months as I showered in the stand-up shower, she would want in, so this was another quick and easy way I could take a quick shower and give her a wash. On occasion she wanted me to bring her tub in too, and today was one of those days.
I started off taking a shower. She was hanging out in her tub outside of the shower waiting for me to get her after she tried using her potty (without much success). So, she was squatting in the tub, no diaper, holding up her shirt then it happened. She 'peh-peh-ed' and was standing in her pee! I kept telling her to stand still as she splashed in her puddle a bit. It was funny and gross.
I gathered her up, washed her and her tub, and she had her shower-bath with Bo. All good!
She asked for Daddy throughout the day! When I opened my eyes around 7:30 she was standing in her crib holding her pillow and blankets and said, "Daddy go?" 'KEY-OOT'! She misses you, Daddy! She's her usual continuous bolt of energy, but she hasn't slept through the night since Daddy go, but we're okay!
Speaking of bolt of energy...while I was changing after our showa, she was hanging out in her crib, emptied its contents onto our bed and began jumping, jumping, jumping. It was entertaining! (I shall attempt to post it later tonight.)
When she was eating her arrowroot cookie after her showa-bath she was sitting on the couch reading her cookie following her finger as it traced the letters on the cookie, which apparently said, "I...yove...Daddy!" She was quiet but just kept repeating it.
I think she's going to have a gagging reflex 'yike' Daddy, like when I change her poo-poo diapers or when she walks past the 'comactor' in the parkade. Oh, Nana!
It's only Day 2, and I've been keeping up with my daily goals, but time is passing slowly at the moment. Boo!
